I've got a Polaris 600 midsize. I noticed your engine is set quite a bit forward. Compared to mine. What are you're thoughts on heat transfer to passenger compartment. That is a good looking machine. Enjoy. SIDE Note. I usually only use high for flat ground, otherwise it's low gear all the time.
Hey! Thanks for watching. Really haven’t had any heat transfer to the seat or passenger compartment. The machine runs pretty cool. Always high on flat ground for us too but some of these big hills will need low when loaded down. Thanks for watching!
Awesome video and quite the surprise at the end. Cannot wait to hear about it!
🕺🏻🕺🏻🕺🏻
Thank you for the info
You got it. 👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼
Yeah! You got the review out!
Again.. I love mine!! It's great!!
I also have the same concerns about guards on cv and bigger brush guard...
I just had my oil changed some warranty on the brakes.. the rt rear was squeaking.. other than that good to go
It’s a nice machine man! Glad you are liking yours too!
@@JoeTheFarmer maybe on next vid you can ride it around in some bad areas or ride up those hills and show what your talking about.. keep it up.. good report..
Good idea and great feedback. Thanks man!
😊Wow! Your are so lucky to get to review fun stuff. You are a big deal, I remember you when!😂😎Nice job buddy! Looks like fun!!🇺🇸🚜👊💪
It has been fun man. But the best part for sure is the people. YT has led me to some cool people. Like my buddy in Oregon!
Looks like it's holding up nicely
Sure is!!!
Thats sounds like a great machine.
I cant wait to see the smaller sxs. It looks nice.
Thanks for watching!
I want a side by side but really don't need one just like toy's. Great video the man in the other side by side had a big smile. 😁
Thanks Miles! You should get one. They are too much fun!
@Joe The Farmer Yea I want one just bought a zero turn something I actually needed (that's what I told my boss). I got the bug back before you put out the review on your other machine. That's how I found your channel. Then I found side by sides that got expensive so I stopped looking. I should just scale back my thinking.
The market has gotten to where a side by side can cost as much as a new truck. That’s why these value oriented vehicles are fun to test and review. 99.9% of the market doesn’t need a $40k Can Am. Now, people can absolutely spend how they see fit, no judgement here!
I've got a deposit on a Can-Am HD7 DPS that I'm picking up later this week. I had to get a few things at Tractor Supply and they had a few of these sitting outside. The price intrigued me to take a closer look since the HD7 is going to cost me about $6k more. It didn't take long for me to realize the Can-Am is going to the better option. This Longhorn looks cheap, inside and out. There's nothing nice about this rig besides the reservoir shocks. I mentioned it to my brother-in-law and some friends of his just bought one and said it rode like a tank. I guess you get what you pay for.
Hey Brandon, I for sure agree that you get what you pay for. The CanAm is a GREAT machine. Will serve you well. The BigHorn is about $12k and should serve 95% of what a lot of people are looking for. My buddy Kapper has a $30k Polaris Northstar that is amazing. Just can’t swing that and beat it to death. Good luck with the new rig and congrats!!!
@@JoeTheFarmer trust me, the price tag had me thinking twice about buying the Can-Am! For the money I don’t think the Big Horn is a bad deal at all. I’m probably buying way more than I need with the Can-Am and may regret it later.
You won’t regret it brother. And didn’t take it the wrong way. Its great that there are options for everyone. Not sure I would trust the Bighorn (yet!) on a long trip in the middle of nowhere but it is growing on me. The Canam is a heck of a machine and if you have the money buy the best you can. For what it’s worth we intend to beat on the Bighorn. If it disappears one day you will know why! Excited for you man. Enjoy picking up that machine. I’m sure you worked hard for it and you will prob have it a LONG time. 😁👍🏼👊🏼

Can you review parts and service? I'd like to know what it's like dealing with maintaince and repairs.
I will as it comes up. I’ll change the oil soon but hoping it never needs to go to the shop! Lol
Update for you..
We took the Bighorn out this Saturday to a mud park to try out some stuff.. (no real chance taking) but we did do a few steep hill climbs and rutting light bogs.. we had three occupants two young grandkids and myself. Maybe close to 300# in the cab..
The hill climbing did like the Low range the best.. with or without 4x4.. although 4x4 there was no issues..
Belt never slipped on these hills probably 30 degree + hills not real tall.. but offered some challenges.
Mud bogs we tried all the gears with and without 4x4 locker no locker.. no real problems.. got over the tires several times and had to back out of one.. while backing out my two gks had to exit the vehicle to reduce the weight. Belt wanted to slip as it was backing out up small grade.. once they exited it came on out..
The machine handled all we put it through.. I believe we could have really gone more extreme.. but that will be for another time since it's not completely broke in.. clean up was easy also.. look forward to more adventures.
Thought you might like to know how ours is doing..
Thanks Joe
Cheers again from Bama .
Man, I really appreciate you sharing all that! I am sure that many upgrades/updates were made from my machine and sounds like it handled well. Hard to beat for the money!!! Keep us all posted with updates my friend!
It would be great to see the engine compartment and the layout of the systems.
I did a full service in a video titled “What You Need To Know When Buying A Bighorn 550” and that should give you an in depth look at the motor. But will be sure to include that in future reviews! Thanks for the feedback!
@@musketbal I have a24 550 and the engine compartment is terrible you can’t even ck the oil without taking the breather tube off and then it’s really tough
@ANTHONYLEIPERT you can get a dipstick extension that actually makes it much easier. All of these machines have cramped compartments…kind of like cars these days! Lol
@ where do you go to find parts and also for warranty work. Did you get the msg about the drive train grinding and carrying on in reverse I don’t almost positive it’s not a linkage problem I live in Pinson Al and can’t get an answer about the warranty location
@@ANTHONYLEIPERT Reach out to Sunright Powersports and they should be able to help you find a service location. Not sure where it would be there. There are plenty of parts though, they have been awesome to work with. Machines will break and have issues, if you are still under warranty they will take care of you. Take care.
Joe, could you share some thoughts or insight on Bighorn support with warranty issues; who to reach out to or how to get their attention, your experiences, etc.? Thanks!
Hey, my relationship with BigHorn is an unfair comparison. They are a channel partner so I am not going to pretend that doesn't give me some preferential treatment. Now, what I will say is that they are all great people and I would suggest calling their 800 number and ask for the closest service center. Then start doing your research. I do all of my own service, but for big problems (like I have had) I worked with the corporate store...not a local dealer. My machine was a prototype and they wanted to tear it down to investigate the issue. My current machine is a production model and have had no issues. Hope that helps!
Hi Joe! I enjoyed your review, as always. Do you think the performance on hills isn't as good as the Coleman 550?
On very steep slopes I would say the Coleman is the winner. For comfort, size and ride the BigHorn wins. There are trade offs. I believe the Coleman is being discontinued…which is kind of sad. Been a great workhorse. 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Have you added any accessories since the video? If so can you advise where to purchase?
Not really anything added. It comes so optioned that I really didn’t need to add anything
Can you tell me the oil filter? I have one and going to change the break in oil but the manual don't say the specific size. So far pleased. Thanks for your video.
I would call BigHorn and buy a few from them. They were cheap and the size was really odd. That’s what I did and they were helpful. Thanks for watching!
Thats pretty sharp! Eventually I will be in the market for a side by side for our property. Like you, I spend a lot of time in my local tractor supply so this may be a solid option. Hows the warranty and will you take it to tractor supply if something breaks or do you have a dealer close?
Warranty is 1 year I believe; and they supposedly have a support network of service providers. Haven’t had to use that yet and I do most maintenance myself so hopefully won’t need them! Take care buddy!
love the utv... but who works on this if you need?
There are repair centers spread out where the units are sold. For the most part maintenance is simple and I did a video on that. More complex repairs would need to reach out to BigHorn and get their feedback.
The tires look a little thin and CV guards make a whole lot of sense. If your handy with a welder, well..In time it'll grow up to be a farmer's best friend.
I really need to spend some time with a welder. There are a lot of cheapo options out there that I may try. And yeah; beefier tires would be a plus!
Does it get hot in the cab when riding? Doesn't get too cold down here in South Alabama.
It can if you don’t open the windshield vents. If it was my only machine, I would take the doors off in the summer.
Hi, I was wondering where you got your windshield from. I have been searching and can’t find one. Are they comparable to any other models? Thanks have a great day!
Hey! It came with the machine. At Tractor Supply the windshield is included in the purchase price.
When I purchased mine it did not come with one. I wonder if I was supposed to get one with it.
Thank you so much!!!!! I called them and they said they kept them in the back and never gave it to us. Going to get it today. Greetings from SC!!
@katielock6082 awesome!!! Thanks for watching and have fun!
Backing up reverse really makes a lot of grinding noise and seems like breaks drag
May need to be adjusted.
I don’t see any way to adjust it it sounds like the ring gear is jumping teeth I live in Pinson Al do you know how I find warranty people place It also fights the starter has since it was purchased
When will you take the bike for service Honda dealer Polaris dealer???
Not sure but I think you are asking where I will take it for service. My intention is to service the machine myself. Very simple to do.
Are parts available?
@jameyarthurhultz3069 I would think so; the engine is made by Nebula. They make a ton of motors and machines. But would look into where you would get it serviced before pulling the trigger on one. Been a super comfortable machine.
Joe, we just got the big horn 400 and it has this horrid smell. Did you have that problem?? Also the EFI light is constantly on. Is that problematic?
That doesn’t sound right at all. Where did you buy it?
Higher air intake to keep out of dust and mud?
I would think so. I know the Mule has the intake in the roll bar which is smart.
Hey Joe, quick question for you..
I haven't asked the dealer yet I bought mine from but does Bighorn have any accessories like doors, racks, etc for these yet.. I know you have a good relationship with them... And if you hear of anything will you let us know.. or is there a place that sells accessories that could fit on this UTV.. I've looked on their website and it has an accessory tab but nothing there.
Thanks and greetings from Bama... Love the channel..
Oh another one, let me know where your operating rpm is while straight cruising say around 30 - 35 or so.. thanks man
Not sure about accessories my friend. I know there was talk of a heater and hard sided cab but they don’t share that kind of info with me. Lol. Appreciate you watching and the kind words man! Lots of family in Alabama!!!
It's been 10 months. Any major problems? I'm thinking about buying one! Yes or No? I know Massimo has a lot of problems!
Yes and no. Yes on the BigHorn but will have the video out this weekend. Not any issues with the Massimo
I'd like to have one. What price point?
$12,499 with everything mine came with.
it looks like a good basic machine that should be enough for the person using it for "normal" chores and basic day to day usage!! NOW if you want to really step up into another NEW model get yourself into the BAD BOY machine, your mouth will drop open from the get go!! 🤠
Buddy; I have that machine. Identical to the Coleman Sector 550 from Hisun. Just rebranded as a Bad Boy. It is a fantastic machine and we have been super happy with it.
What kind of grass is that?
In the yard?
How on Earth did you get them to give you one to try out?
My charming personality.
Center console?
Yessir. Comes down in the middle with two cupholders and a phone holder.
